Establishment of Vetafarm as the global leader in quality, ethical and innovative animal health.
Our Story
Vetafarm began with Dr Tony Gestier – a veterinarian driven by a passion for innovation and a desire to solve medical challenges that had no existing treatments.
To fund early research and development, Dr Tony ran desexing campaigns through his veterinary clinic, determined to create real solutions that would make a difference. In 1990, that dedication led to a world-first achievement: the registration of the first Psittacosis treatment – Australia’s very first companion bird medicine.
From those humble beginnings, Vetafarm’s focus remained developing advanced, science-backed products for animals of every kind – from small pets and reptiles to dogs, cats, zoo species, and even marine life.
Today, Vetafarm has grown into a team of more than 60 passionate people who share Dr Tony’s vision. With over 450 specialty animal products developed and countless more ideas on the horizon, we’re only just getting started!
